JV Lady Bearcats roll over Washington into tourney Championship game

Hermann’s Kaylyn Powers goes up for a shot over a Washington defender Thursday night in the Hermann JV Girls Tournament.

The Junior Varsity Lady Bearcats will ride a 33-point win over Washington into Saturday morning’s Championship game of the Hermann JV Girls Tournament.

Head Coach Andy Emmons watched his team start strong against the Lady Blue Jays from the outset and never look back in the 54-21 semi-final win.

Hermann will play the Rolla Lady Mules, who posted a 38-15 victory over the Owensville Dutchgirls in the other semi-final contest. The title game is set for 11:30 a.m.

The Varsity Lady Bearcats also will be playing Saturday in the Championship game of the Montgomery County Invitational Tournament. The Lady ‘Cats will take on the New Haven Lady Shamrocks at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Varsity Bearcats were kept out of the title game of theĀ  Montgomery County boys’ tourney last night by the host team. The Wildcats’ win over the Bearcats sends Hermann into the 3rd-Place contest at 4:30 p.m. against the Clopton Hawks.
