Lance Cpl. Joe Gillig is wounded in Afghanistan

A Marine from Hermann is recovering in a military hospital after being injured by an IED in Afghanistan on Aug. 28.
Lance Cpl. Joe Gillig, a 2007 graduate of Hermann High School, was on patrol when the vehicle he was in drove over an IED.
His mother, Barb Gillig of Hermann said last week that while her son's injuries are serious, they are not life-threatening.
