Hermann was near a ghost town Monday and Wednesday nights as hundreds of basketball fans attended the state tournament games in the class M and S divisions in which the local high school teams were participating.

World Day of Prayer is being observed here today by the Women of the Hermann Methodist Church and of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Steve Hanger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Schaefer of Hermann, is a patient at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, where he is recovering from a brain concussion sustained in a fall at the silica sand pit near the William Harrison place west of Hermann Thursday morning of last week.
