Calvin Scheidegger and Rose Marie Burke were crowned king and queen of St. George at a ceremony preceding the junior senior prom at St. George on Thursday.

Nine 5,000-gallon wine barrels were added to the winery equipment at old Stone Hill. Installation of the barrels was begun Monday of last week and was completed Friday.

The Hermann Junior Community Baseball League will open the 1968 season on Tuesday, May 28, with games in the bantam and juvenile divisions.

Ken Boyer last Friday signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League and joined the club Saturday. He has appeared in two games for the Dodgers, at first base and at third, and has collected three hits in the two starts. An early announcement from Los Angeles has indicated Boyer was slated for a pinchhitting role.

A red morel mushroom which measures almost 10 inches in height, was found by Bert Harrison at Harrison’s Hill west of Hermann recently. The mushroom, which weighed 3 pounds, is the largest of its type ever seen by Harrison, owner of the former Stone Hill Mushroom Company.
