St. Paul Riverside Singers will present “An Afternoon of Gospel Music” at St. George Catholic Church on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m.
The Singers, members of the Senior Choir at St. Paul United Church of Christ, were in concert in The Rotunda in the Upper City Park for The Brush & Palette Club’s annual fund raiser on Aug. 22. The group donated all proceeds of a free-will offering at that concert to restoration of the bandstand in the park.
For the Nov. 12 concert, the Singers have designated the offering for the Hermann Area Ministerial Alliance. The Alliance coordinates the works of the Hermann-area churches. Its charity, Samaritan Outreach, distributes donated clothing, furniture and household goods to needy families within the Gasconade County R-1 School District.
Its volunteers use donated funds to purchase clothing and shoes for needy children. The Alliance also provides financial assistance to clients in emergencies and financial advice to those who struggle with everyday expenses.
The St. Paul Riverside Singers, directed by LaNette Kotthoff, will render a variety of gospel music – well-known classics such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “There’s Something About That Name” and more.
The Singers invite everyone to attend the concert and to support the Hermann Area Ministerial Alliance.
