A leading advocate in the improvement of Hermann’s city parks is running to become a policymaker.
Susan Lenger, a founding member of Hermann Park Pride, has filed for the Ward 1 seat on the upcoming April 3 ballot.
Lenger is a physical therapist by profession and in recent years has been active in raising funds and organizing events to improve the city’s parks.
Park Pride has been successful in garnering funds and community volunteers for the purchase and installation of new playground equipment in Hermann Lower City Park, as well as the constrution of a new kiddie pool adjacent to the Municipal Swimming Pool.
Filing for local-government offices will continue through Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Thus far, no races have developed for any of the local offices to be filled in the April 3 balloting.
