Hermann Garden Tour set for Saturday, Sunday

 The 21st Annual Garden Tour, set for this Saturday and Sunday, the Hermann Garden Club will feature two types of tours: The Town Tour, a walking tour of small gardens hidden behind houses in the Historic District; and the Country Tour, a driving tour of country gardens in the hills around Hermann.   • Pair arrested after chase tied to Gasconade County burglaries

    A woman from Washington and a man from Festus arrested recently after trying to outrun Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are believed to have been involved in burglaries in Hermann and unincorporated Gasconade County. The names of the woman, 34, and the man, 29, were being withheld pending formal charges being issued, but Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke noted that the two were on probation when they were arrested for possession

4 Bearcats named to All-District Tournament teams

Four members of the Hermann Bearcats baseball squad have been named to All-District Tournament teams. Sophomores Matt Wade and Andrew Budnick were named to the All-District 1st Team; All-District 2nd Team members include juniors Conner Lane and Dakota Eikermann.

  • Hermann’s Uthlaut finishes 11th &12th in Run at State

    Hermann High School junior Grant Uthlaut crossed the finish line in 12th Place today in the 1600-Meter Run at the State Track Meet in Jefferson City. Saturday he ran with final State results of 11th  in  the  3200-Meter  race Time  10:09.66. The long-distance runner is the only Bearcat to advance to the State Track-and-Field Meet at Lincoln University.

    So Maifest was wet. Wet fun, that is! Friday was rainy but early Friday night it was not. The concert at the Amphitheatre was great. Not many people but the food was good, beer was cold, wine was delightful and the band was incredible! Love The Bluff Tones. I tried to get a video of them playing but it turned out all blurry.     Ninety vehicles — cars, trucks and tractors — bearing the Ford logo took part in the first Midwest Blue Oval Car Show in Hermann Saturday, May 23. Organizer Greg Howe of Montgomery County had hoped for a larger turnout of Ford enthusiasts for the three-day event, but he’s satisfied considering it was the inaugural event.     Local organizers of the Midwest Blue Oval Club Rally and Car Show in Hermann this past weekend are pleased with the turnout, even though it was smaller than they had hoped for. Greg Howe, one of the local Blue Oval organizers, said the group is optimistic turnout will be larger as the event becomes a regular attraction in the Hermann community.
