The Varsity Bearcats salvaged a win in the final game of their tournament Saturday afternoon, finishing in 7th Place with a 44-40 overtime win against the New Haven Shamrocks.
Juniors Rhet Scheidegger and Chet Moeckli paced the Bearcats with 10 points each while sophomore center Trent Anderson added 9.
The 2nd-seed Warrenton Warriors won the Championship, knocking off top-seeded Montgomery County 58-48.
Other Bearcats scoring against the Shamrocks were Chase McKague with 8, Sam Holland with 4, Andrew Schannuth with 2 and Boyd Phillips with 1.
Hermann was bumped to the 7th-Place contest by Bourbon, which claimed a 56-48 win in a Consolation semi-final matchup.
In that game, Anderson topped the ‘Cats in scoring with 15. Scheidegger added 11, Holden Ash scored 9, Schannuth posted 5 and Moeckli and McKague each had 4 points.
The Bearcats, who joined the Lady Bearcats in a doubleheader at home last night, came out of the tournament with a season mark of 7-12.
The Bearcats resumed Four Rivers Conference action last night against Sullivan.
