Landolt & Gilbert meet

Throughout his tour of duty in Iraq, Lucas Landolt was inspired and sustained by the music of Brantley Gilbert. He tried to see the country-southern rock singer before he left, but after purchasing tickets, was deployed before the concert date. Upon returning to the United States, he bought more tickets only to have the performance rained out. He gave up on ever hearing Gilbert live. But his mother, Lainee Landoldt, did not. She reached out to the performer's management team to see if she could some way get tickets to Gilbert's upcoming Aug. concert at the Missouri State Fair. When they heard her son's story of service in the United States military, and how much the singer meant to him, and how he had never been able to see him live, they responded with patriotic generosity. Lucas and his girlfriend—and his mother—were all given not only seats at the concert, but back-stage passes and an invitation to meet the singer.
