Bring a school supply donation and see a movie
According to Coordinator Amy Grannemann, it’s time to start collections for the Back to School Backpack program. She noted it is the sixth year for the program. “Last year we collected 135 backpacks with supplies that were given out to students in the Gasconade County R1 school System,” she said. “Dawn Grosse, the school-based social worker gives out the backpacks.”
Area residents and visitors can have some fun by bringing donations to the Show Boat Theatre to see a free movie—"How To Train Your Dragon The Hidden World" on July 12. This year, there will be a second movie for the adults—“Green Book" on July 13. Again, movie-goers need to bring school supplies for a donation to see the movie.
Amy says there are no limits on what constitutes a school supply donation.
“If they bring a new pencil, they can get in to see the movie,” she says.
The supplies requested:

2-boxes of 24 crayons
2-packs of 8 washable markers
1-bottle Elmer's Glue
