The Gasconade County R-I School District Board of Education has selected Mr. Geoff Neill as the next superintendent of schools. Mr. Neill is currently serving as superintendent for the Sturgeon School District.
Board President Mark Brooks stated, “The board was impressed with Mr. Neill’s experience as a superintendent, his knowledge of educational processes and the leadership he has provided the Sturgeon School District.” Mr. Brooks also stated that Mr. Neill’s expertise in leadership, school finance and approachable personality make him the ideal candidate for the Gasconade County R-I School District.
Mr. Neill is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State, Baker University, and will soon complete a Doctorate Degree in Education from William Woods University.
Mr. Neill stated, “Along with my wife Amy, our daughters Morgan and Jocelyn, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Gasconade County R-1 school district. We look forward to this new chapter in our life and getting settled in our new community”.
Mr. Neill will assume his duties as superintendent effective July 1, 2021. Current Superintendent Dr. Scott Smith announced he will resign at the end of the 2020-2021 school year to assume the duties of superintendent of the Jackson, Missouri School District.
The Gasconade County R-1 School Board would like to thank Dr. Scott Smith for his service to the district and his dedication to our students. We wish him well in his new position.
