Hermann High School FFA Chapter is busy working on finishing touches for FFA week which will begin Saturday February 22 and end February 29th. FFA President Megan Schneider explained that the actual official week runs from a Saturday to a Saturday with the activities at school planned for the Monday through Friday. Students have been very busy with planning and organizing the special activities associated with FFA week.
Schneider says it is a week for students to show appreciation to the teachers and supporters of the FFA and students put in a lot of hours preparing for the week. It takes a lot of meetings and people working together to make it successful.
Monday, February 24th is slated to be ‘Merica Day and Pie Day. Members will dress in their best patriotic gear and bring in pies to serve to the teachers and extra pies for a luncheon the following day.
Tuesday, February 25th will be Chapter T-shirt Day and a Porksteak Luncheon. Members will wear their chapter t-shirts and then enjoy a porksteak meal for lunch cooked by the FFA. According to Schneider tickets will be sold during the week before FFA week at school to students and teachers. Get your tickets so you can support the FFA and enjoy a good porksteak meal.
Wednesday, February 26th brings on a Battle of the Brand and a Scavenger Hunt. Members will represent their favorite brands and participate in a scavenger hunt to win a prize. According to members they have a really good time with this one.
Thursday, February 27th is truck, tractor, and trailer day along with official dress day along with a Supporter’s Luncheon. Members can participate by parading their tractor, trucks and trailers in front of all schools and then parking them near the Superintendent’s office building near the high school. Members are encouraged to wear their official dress to look nice during the luncheon.
Friday, February 28th is Flannel Friday and a super contest is in the works. Members will wear their nicest flannel and have the chance to participate in the super farmer contest. President Schneider tells me they will have 5-6 activities in an obstacle course type setup during bearcat time.
