BOA acts on

city clerk post

The Hermann Board of Aldermen has taken action in closed session on several prominent duties at City Hall.

The BOA took the votes behind closed doors following its regular meeting on Monday, May 10.

Alderwoman Susan Lenger made a motion to approve dividing the City Clerk's duties into two positions: a City Clerk and a Finance Clerk, while recommending that Tammy Ellis be promoted to Finance Clerk and Corey Orr be hired as a Deputy City Clerk.

Upon a good three- to six-month review by the board, Orr would then be promoted to City Clerk, according to Lenger's motion, which was seconded by Alderman David Faerber. The motion passed in a unanimous 4-0 vote.

Patricia Heaney has been serving as Hermann City Clerk, but was recently promoted to City Manager, to replace the retiring Mark Wallace.

Also last Monday night in the closed session, Faerber made a motion to change Jesse Geltz's review period for the Public Works Director position from three months to six months. Alderman Derek LeRoy seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. On May 3, the board voted to hire Geltz for the position.
