Look above. What do you see? It’s a different version of Cathi. I have let me hair grow into the natural color its meant to be at 57 years, 4 kids, two grandkids and 12 years at the paper. It has been a struggle growing it out but its close enough to call it complete. Since I’ve been letting it go natural I’ve noticed several beautiful gray ladies around town. Not a bad group to fall in with!
Fun stuff at the ECC Football camp last week. Schools from Cuba, Montgomery County, Clompton and Hermann battled each other for 2 days.
Let me take you back to last football season. Plays were called out to the defense “64 delta” or “Chicago 123”. Angie Sherrow, the heath professional for the team, and I used to joke about how we thought they should come up with better names for some of their calls. My favorite was “buttered biscuit” or “brown butter”. But the football team never used butter biscuits or any of the great names we came up with.
Along comes 2019 and what is the defense calling during ECC camp? “Freaky Friday”, “Taco Tuesday” and “Freaky Taco Tuesday”. I swear if I hear anything yelled out to do with a biscuit I’m going to charge a copywriter fee. Go Bearcats.
As one lady told me this week, rooting for the color blue is the in thing to do. Between Blues hockey and Blue Bearcats, we can’t go wrong.
So the towns premier laundry facility is open again and looking good. Das Wash Haus is ready for all of your dirty laundry. That’s sounds odd but true.
Enjoy the weekend with the 3rd annual Summer Jam which supports the Perseverance Foundation. See the ad.
You all know the children’s quip, “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream”. I have a new one. “I take, you take, we all take the pancakes”. At the Lion’s pancake Breakfast! Yippee see the ad!
Back to football biscuits, what are we going to do without Hardee’s biscuits? Football or otherwise, they have the best biscuits ever. Even better than homemade. Kathy and Kevin have owned Hardee’s for 20 years and I’m so glad they have. I’ve enjoyed the food there but sometimes God has other plans. In fact, Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I Know The Plans I Have For You' Declares the Lord, 'Plans to Prosper You and Not to Harm You, Plans to Give You Hope and a Future.'"
Now is the time to remember how delicious toast is.
