What a great week. Why? The election is over! I swear this election seem to last 15 years.

The Hermann Volleyball girls came in third in the state. Sometime we need to do a story on a year the team didn't go to state. What a great reflection on the coaching staff, players and a town that is crazy for their volleyball. Good job!

Not as often, but just as pleasurable, is the win of the Hermann XC team. I've bragged on them all season and will continue into the spring track season. They are two totally different sports but a lot of the same runners. You can feel the love and respect the runners have for each other. Again, another reflection of good coaching.

Morgan Miller can home with a medal for coming home 24 out of over 100 racers at the state XC meet.. She is only a junior so look out next year! Dalton Gleeson has been on the recruiters' eyes for years and there is plenty of reason for it. Who would think that a boy with such a mischievous grin would turn out to be such a power house of running ability? Number 6 in the state? Great job Dalton!

There was also a nice football game Friday. As I walked onto the field, I had the giddiest feeling. Any football is good football and our group of boys is as  spirited as they come. The feel, the sounds and even the smell made this team's last game an event.

A local favorite, Pea Ridge Christmas Tree is getting ready for Christmas. It's going to be a little bit different this year (thank you COVID) but it is still a part of our magical Christmases. See the ad.

Doxie Slush has their windows all decked out for the holidays. They did a great job so go by and take a look.

There was a big article about Hermann and the corona virus the other day in a St Louis paper. It talked about so many people from Hermann and the tourist spreading the disease. Hermann, never knowing a stranger, still needs to be careful with visitors and home folk. In this season coming up, let's keep our healthcare workers in mind. They do such a great job.

Have a good week, stay safe and love each other.
