Hermann bows to Cougars

The Hermann Bearcats boys football team faced a tough opponent last Friday night in the Lutheran St. Charles Cougars, losing out on the road 50-0.

Kole Eldringhoff led the way for Hermann on the ground, gaining 32 yards on nine carries. Gavin Hackmann had 12 yards rushing on four rushes, while Conner Coffey rushed for 10 yards on four carries.

Trenton Lampkin completed four out of 17 passing attempts for 13 yards. Braeden Englert caught one pass for six yards, as did Kenny Hoener.

Caden Humphrey totaled 18 yards on two kickoff returns, while Coffey ran back one kickoff for 12 yards. Englert returned a kickoff for 10 yards, and Brock Shockley fielded a kickoff for a six-yard return.

On defense, both Hoener and Shockley recorded four tackles. Coffey and Jackson Chasteen each had three tackles, while Eldringhoff totaled two tackles.

Homecoming is up next for the Bearcats, who face their longtime cross-county nemesis, the Owensville Dutchmen, at 7 p.m. Friday at Bearcat Memorial Stadium.
