Bearcats take county

braggin' rights

The Hermann Bearcats varsity boys basketball can now fully claim the title of best team in Gasconade County after a thorough drubbing of the Owensville Dutchmen on Friday night at home.

The Bearcats put a complete full stop to Owensville's hopes of taking the county crown by a score of 51-43, moving their season record to 14-6. The loss moved the Dutchmen to a 6-10 overall mark, with a wrapup to the season coming soon for both teams.

Earlier in the week, Hermann dropped a tough one to the Sullivan Eagles on Tuesday, Feb. 2, by a count of 64-50 in a road contest.

The always-stunning Parker Anderson graced the nets for 25 points, relying on 10-for-12 field goal shooting while striking gold on five out of nine shots from the charity stripe. Holden Ash and Rane Rehmert each dropped in six points for the cause.

Anderson muscled his way to six rebounds, while Seth Hackmann loomed large over the boards for four caroms. Hackmann also stealthily took two steals from Owensville, while the stellar Austin Terry purloined one from Dutchmen hands.
