FFA project a winner

Scheible and Schluss are shown with ribbons they won at various fairs, including Reserve Grand Champion at the Missouri State Fair last year. Scheible and Schluss’s families say Hermann is lucky to have such dedicated FFA advisors and supporters for its students.

Hermann High School’s FFA group has produced several impressive projects in recent years. Emmett Scheible and Craig Schluss built this 32’ gooseneck trailer with a hydraulic dovetail and hydraulic jacks with the help of their FFA advisor and shop teacher, Doug Ridder.

The trailer was built for Emmett’s grandpa, Melvin “Speedy” Jacob, owner of Jacob Farms, in Case, MO.

Due to the size of the project, Emmett and Craig did not finish the trailer until it was time to enter it in the Gasconade County Fair after their senior year. The last few weeks enlisted help of other friends and family to complete the trailer at that time. They also entered the trailer in multiple fairs this summer.
