Brenda Kay McGuire, age 78, of Fredericksburg, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. Brenda was born November 22, 1940, in Hermann, a daughter to the late Roy C. and Lenora M. (Weissenbach) Johnson.
Brenda attended Hermann High School and later received her GED. She also attended Columbia College.
She was united in marriage to Harlan McGuire. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1969.
Brenda was employed as a computer programmer for the State of Missouri for over 25 years. She was a member of Zion St. Peter United Church of Christ in Pershing and the Nimble Thimble Quilt Club in Hermann. Brenda enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, knitting, all kinds of crafts, putting puzzles together and reading.
Brenda is survived by: one son, Craig McGuire and his wife Tina of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Tammy Prater and her husband Russ of Freedom, and Yona Leimkuehler of Fredericksburg; ten grandchildren, Jessica Prater, Rebecca Rost, Joshua Prater, Brandi Prater, Kandiss Hoffman, Brandon Woldanski, Amber Weber, Ryan Leimkuehler, Brittney Leimkuehler, and Nicole Leimkuehler; thirteen great grandchildren, Benjamin Rost, Patrick Rost, Dillon Prater, Logan Prater, Grayson Prater, Lillian Hoffman, Jake Weber, Xavier Woldanski, Abi Woldanski, Jacy Weber, Joey Weber, Nolan Woldanski, and Lydia Woldanski.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandy Woldanski.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Zion St. Peter United Church of Christ in Pershing. A Celebration of Life service followed with Pastor Ron Stair officiating.
