Diane Kay Lionberger, of Hermann, MO passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Hermann Area District Hospital.
Diane was born on December 19, 1943, in Mt. Sterling, MO, to Rudolph “Rudy” and MayBelle (nee Vincent) Nixon.
Diane was united in marriage to Calvin J. Lionberger, Jr. on November 18, 1961, at the First Baptist Church, Hermann, MO. To this union two children were born, Tracy and Daniel “Danny” Lionberger.
Diane is survived by a daughter, Tracy Simon of League City, TX; a son, Danny Lionberger of Hermann, MO; by grandsons, Austin (Hillary) Simon, of Friendswood, TX, and Dylan Simon of League City, TX, by her great granddaughter, Amerie Rose Simon, by sisters, Doris Happy, of Columbia, IL; Marcella (Ed) Knehans and Brenda (Bob) Todd, of Hermann, MO, by a brother-in-law, Richard Lionberger & wife Lorene, of Hermann, MO, by two aunts, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law, Christopher Simon, parents-in-law, Calvin Lionberger, Sr. and Helen (nee Quinn) Lionberger, by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Spreckelmeyer and brothers-in-law, Roger Happy and David Huxel.
Diane loved spending time with her family and traveling. She would often travel to Texas to visit her two grandson's Austin and Dylan, being their Nana was her greatest joy. She looked forward to summers, because that's when the grandson's would come visit. She was looking forward to holding her great grand-daughter Amerie in December.
Diane worked for Stone Hill Winery in the sales and tasting rooms. One of her favorite jobs was helping with the winery weddings. She served as personal assistant to the bride and her attendants. She was known to sew a tear in a gown, ensure that everyone had the right flowers, was lined up, ready for their walk down the aisle and anything else the bride needed.
Diane was honored in August, 2019, for her 60 years of membership at First Baptist Church, Hermann. Diane wore many hats during her years of membership at the church, producing the Sunday church bulletins while using a very messy mimeograph machine.
Everyone who knew Diane loved her. They knew she was always willing to help those who needed help.
