Dixie Hall, 91, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
Graveside Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Jones officiating.
Dixie was born on October 5, 1928 at her home in Rhineland, Missouri, the daughter of William Tecumseh and Althea Elizabeth (Thorpe) Dowling. On September 27, 1947 in Bowling Green, she married Robert Ellis Hall. He passed away on October 18, 2018.
Mrs. Hall was a secretary in the Mexico Public School System for many years. After retirement, she belonged to the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
Dixie enjoyed fishing, solitaire, crossword puzzles and watching MU Tigers basketball. She adored her cats and loved watching them out her sliding glass door.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, Robert, Dixie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Hudson; one brother, William Dowling; and one sister, Vivian Grotewiel.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Tom Hudson of Mexico; three grandchildren, Melisa “Missy” (Mike) Ahrens of Mexico, Melinda “Mindy” Hudson of Mexico and Robert “Rob” E. Hudson of Mexico; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee (Colin) Paffrath of Mexico and Kerrie Ahrens (Josh Riley); two great-great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Harper Paffrath; one sister-in-law, Mary Jean Hall of Vandalia; many nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Juanita Jones of Mexico.
Memorial donations may be made to Lockewood Park Baptist Church. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
