Donald R. Slusser, 70, of Chamois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1949, in Wichita, Kansas, a son of the late Lewis Guy and Myraline Jane (Parsons) Slusser.
Donnie was a graduate of Pattonville High School. He worked in construction for many years and also drove a dump truck. His passion was creating customized vehicles and hot rods. Donnie also enjoyed many years of racing with his life long best friend, Tommy Butherus.
He enjoyed being a joker and making people laugh. Donnie never went anywhere without his cowboy hat. He cherished the memories made with his children and grandchildren.
Donnie is survived by his sons: Thomas Slusser (Tiffany) and Robert Slusser (Misty), both of Chamois; siblings: Richard Slusser, Jane Jones (Larry), Jean Slusser, Mike Slusser, Myra Slusser, Vonna Foster (Phil) and Denny Slusser (Bonnie Ford); sister-in-law: Sue Slusser; grandchildren: Sandy, Hannah, Alyssa, Christopher, Caitlin and Chance; special friend: Diana Pope, Tom Butherus (Phyllis) and many, many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Wayne Slusser; and sister-in-law: Debbie Slusser.
A celebration of Donnie’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Chamois Lions Club in Chamois, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family of Donald Slusser.
