The only thing disappointing to say about the Lady Bearcats loss to Lutheran North 54-37 last weekend in Sectional playoffs is that we won’t see them play as a team again. They were just so much fun to watch, improving weekly, both as individual players and as a team.

You’ve got to love competitive sports for the lessons it teaches us, in particular, young basketball players, that tooth and nails are forever nipping at our heels. On the court or off, it’s eat or be eaten, so you also learn that if you’re going to be eaten, there is strength in numbers and…

The Bearcats got their 20th win last night for the season against Wright City, 48-46, in a nail biter that probably shouldn’t have been one in the first place. Hermann has played this team twice this year and won both games by 30 points or more.

Watching the Lady Bearcats is easy on the eyes from the standpoint that they sometimes make this game look too easy. It’s not that their opponents don’t play some good basketball and it’s not that Hermann doesn’t have an off night. But Coach Emmons and his assistants have really brought this…
