Bearcats, Panthers shoot it out in offensive contest


The Hermann Bearcats matched up in a high-scoring affair Friday night with the Monroe City Panthers, although coming out on the short end 52-32 in a matchup at Bearcat Memorial Stadium.


Parker Anderson ran for two touchdowns and Holden Ash ran for a TD. Kenny Hoener also ran for a touchdown, while Anderson threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Brock Shockley.


Anderson had 16 rushes and 110 yards. Ash had 103 yards on 15 carries, and Markus Eldringhoff had 104 yards on 14 rushes. Anderson had six completed passes in 16 attempts for 91 yards. Brody Fredrick caught four passes for 58 yards. Conner Coffey returned seven kickoffs for 98 yards.


On defense, Trace Erfling recovered a fumble. Coffey and Fredrick led in tackles with five apiece, with Fredrick also posting three assisted tackles. Gavin Hackmann had four tackles and one assist, as did Nick Waechter. Bryce Williams, Seth Hackmann, and Hoener each had three tackles. 


The Bearcats next face the Borgia Knights in a 7 p.m. Friday road contest in Washington.
