Carter Hemeyer led the Eutectic men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish (of six teams) today at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships in St. Louis' Francis Park. Hemeyer finished in 10th place of 43 runners to earn All-Conference honors. He is the first men's all-conference runner for the Eutectics since joining the AMC in 2014.

The fourth-place team finish by the Eutectics is the highest-ever AMC finish for the program. 2019 team champions Columbia College defended their title today, scoring 32 points - 10 points ahead of second-place Hannibal-LaGrange University. Missouri Baptist University was third with 70 points. University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) scored 105 points for fourth place - ahead of Williams Baptist University (123) and Central Baptist College (132) in fifth and sixth places.

Carter Hemeyer ran 28:43 for the 8K race to lead the Eutectic pack. Zach Brasel was the second Eutectic to cross the finish line in 17th place at 29:50. Less than a minute later, Matthew Ruvinov finished as the third UHSP runner in 22nd place at 30:43. Jake Krekel and Carter Ware rounded out the scoring for the Eutectic squad, finishing in 30th and 36th places, at 34:08 and 37:15, respectively. August Camarato was the final UHSP runner to cross the finish at 45:33 in 42nd place.    

Today's AMC Championship race concludes the Eutectics' 2020 season.
