With the season lost due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Hermann High School Track Coach Josh Morris has yet taken time to recognize his squads' efforts at preparing themselves during the past year.

"We didn't get to have a competition," Morris told the Advertiser-Courier. "We weren't able to see all the hard work" and improvements to individual performance, he added.

"We kind of had a breakout year last year," he continued.

Everyone on the girls' track team who participated in the state's finals a year ago were able to return to fill out this year's edition, according to Morris. He said only one team member didn't return to the boy's team from the previous year.

The seniors were definitely missed from this year's boy's team, especially the top sprinters. The entire distance running team will be returning and will be competitive with other area schools next season. Sophomores and freshmen will be regarded as essential, said Morris.
