Amy Joy Houston Carpenter
Amy Joy Houston Carpenter of Hermann passed away on February 24, 2025, of complications from Scleroderma. She was born on March 28, 1967, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Amy is survived by a family she loved deeply. She was a beautiful wife (to Jim Carpenter); a loving daughter (to Dale and Joyce Wagner, of LaCrosse and Englewood, FL); a sister and great friend (to brother and caregiver Scott Wagner); and aunt (to Autumn and Oliver). Amy’s Aunt Norma was a beautiful part of her life. Amy also leaves behind an incredible group of friends who were so supportive and important to her – she loved them all dearly.
Amy was an artist, gardener, and former farm owner and operator. She loved horses, her 4 cats, and with her husband helped rescue both cats and dogs. Amy enjoyed great food, Mississippi road trips, and birdwatching.
Amy’s fierce and brave battle against a devastating disease is an inspiration to all her family and friends. Her drive to live and love through years of pain and hospital stays reflects her strength, faith, and unending hope.
Memorial gifts may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation or an animal rescue organization of your choice.
A memorial service for Amy will be held later this spring in Hermann, MO.
