A-Peel-ing New Business: Nana Bananas Set Premiere During Oktoberfest

A new local business is set to bring a sweet treat to Hermann this fall. Carter Gerlemann and his grandmother, Kathy Schwartz, are launching "Nana Bananas," a venture inspired by a Florida sweet shop.The business will offer bananas that customers can have dipped in either chocolate or peanut butter before choosing from a variety of toppings.

Hermann Finds Some Closure as Infamous House Is Torn Down

The house that served as the scene of a tense, 14-hour standoff with a cop killer two years ago is now being demolished. The residence, located on Highway 19, was where Kenneth Lee Simpson hid after he allegedly shot and killed Hermann Police Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith and injured Officer Adam Sullentrup on March 12, 2023, at a nearby Casey's convenience store.

GASCONADE COUNTY R-1 ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES 15 YEARS

The Gasconade County R-1 Alumni Association was incorporated in July 2010 with the mission to provide encouragement and financial support to Hermann High School students as they further their education and vocational training. The Association started with a blank piece of paper, a$2,000 donation and a board of directors representing graduates from each decade since the 1040’s plus a representative from the school board.
