Gasconade County R-1 Alumni Association Dual Credit Grant Recipients for 2024 Fall Semester

Dual Credit Grants are to assist students who are taking classes for both high school and college credit while still in high school. Grants are funded through donations made to the Alumni Association's Dual Credit Fund in the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The Association is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax deductible.

Ferals In Peril

Can't believe November has passed so quickly. I guess it was the warm weather, lots of activities, so many tourists and so many cat projects. We spayed/neutered 18 cats, found homes for 10 and provided meds for 28 cats that were spayed or neutered, as well as meds or special food for rescue kittens.

Hermann Victorious Over Wright City Varsity

In the contest over Wright City Basketball, the JV Bearcats were soundly beaten 37-12 in the first game of the evening which made some question how tough would the Varsity match up be? The Varsity game was tilted in Hermann's favor with the Bearcats on top 25-2 after the first quarter. Daedon Hopkins, John Hiatt and Coulter Schwartze all scoring in double digits by the end of the game. John Hiatt led the team with 17 points and 2 shots being 3 pointers. Daeden Hopkins scored 16 and Coulter Schwartze with 12. Myles Stiers hit two 3 pointers for 6 and Easton Stiers also scored 6. Kohlt Witthaus had 3 and Ryker Ash finished with 2, making the final score 62-14.

Starkenburg Delights Visitors With Concerts

The "Sounds of Starkenburg, Music of the Christmas Season" concert at St. Martin's Church Museum on November 30, 2024, featured a diverse lineup of performers. despite the couple of inches of falling snow, the concerts at 2 and 5pm were still performed to a loyal audience. The performers were
1. Tim Mesmer filling in for Barry Bierwirth: Bierwith is a pipe organist and Hermann native, who was scheduled to play the historic Pfe r Pipe Organ, the oldest west of the Mississippi. He was unable to play and Tim Messmerr filled in for him. However, Bierrwirth has been instrumental in the preservation of the organ. Bierwith also has a rich history of music involvement in St. Louis, including directing the German Men's Chorus.
