Hermann is set to welcome two new businesses as the father-son team of Homer and Jesse Harms prepare to open their new retail venture in what used to be SEEK Coffee Shop and Roastery. The veteran-owned company is opening Dogwood Holistic Solutions, a holistic hemp store, while Jesse’s sister, Isabel, will be opening a clothing boutique in the front of the same building.

Local Farmer and History Buff Rediscovers Grave of American Revolutionary War Veteran Just North of Hermann

As a teenager, local farmer and history buff Terry Loehnig used to cut hay at Herb Meyer’s farm along the Loutre River just north of Hermann. He didn’t have any special interest in the fenced graveyard on the property; it was just something he had to mow around.

Hermann High Shooters Hit The Mark At State Match

Hermann High School participated in the Missouri State High School Clay League this spring for the very first time. And this group of kids did NOT disappoint!!! The talent of the 15 shooters was amazing to watch! They worked hard, they were dedicated, and it paid off! We ended the season 2nd in our conference! We went to the State shoot this past Saturday and got 9th out of 15.

City Swimming Pool Becomes An Oasis in Sizzling Temperatures

The National Weather Service described a “heat dome” as the cause of temperatures climbing into the 90s that increased more people to take a dive into Hermann’s pool in the City Park. A line for the diving board and swimming lessons after normal pool hours drew lots of older kids into the deep end, while the younger kids were taught the basics hugging pool noodles in the shallow end.
