159,120 Deer Harvested during November Firearms Deer Season
In Missouri 159,120 deer were harvested during the November portion of the firearms deer season November 16-26. Of the deer harvested 82,613 were antlers bucks, 13,203 button bucks, and 63,304 word does. According to the conservation departments program supervisor Jason Isabelle, there was a drop of harvest this year and it has to do with several situations. The harvest his year was about 15% below the five-year average the November portion. This week he said, the November portion started about a week later this year due to calendar shift, when this happens, we can expect a drop in harvest because the November portion occurs further from the peak of the rut, which is about the 10th day of August.
